I invited a stranger to Hawaii with me…

Okay, so she wasn’t a complete stranger, we met one and a half times (HA), but I knew a very limited amount of info about her and yet was about to go on an 8 day vacation to a tropical island with her…

So, yes, if we gather anything from this blog post, it’s that I’m crazy, and she’s even crazier for saying yes.

But, if I were to do it all over again, she would still be the one I invite because this trip wouldn’t have been the same without her!

Petie and I met when I was staying in Richmond for the week with my friend Brett. We attended the Tuesday’s Together meet up that week, and this is where I first met my Hawaiian travel buddy. What sealed the deal though was the next morning when the three of us went to coffee together!

We became instant friends and when you vibe with a person, you just know. Right? Right.

So when I began planning this trip, I didn’t intend on bringing anyone because if MJ couldn’t go, I didn’t think having someone else would even be optional. But when April, my friend I was staying with, said I could bring someone, my gut said to ask Petie, the girl I had just met and knew almost nothing about, so I did.

She moved around her entire schedule, said she could go, and bought her plane ticket! It was official, Petie was coming to Hawaii with me!

I’m pretty sure everyone around us thought we were crazy, especially our husbands, but it was crazy enough to work and we had the most amazing time!

Petie is, hands down, one of the most thoughtful, kind, go with the flow, and funniest people I know. She made the trip one of a kind and a trip I will never forget!

It’s hard to describe a person and an experience that was just THAT good! It was an adventure that is completely indescribable. We laughed, stuffed our faces with food, said yes to every adventure, and lived every moment to the fullest!

So, when your gut says, “DO IT!” Follow it and don’t look back because this adventure wouldn’t have been the same if I hadn’t.
