A Classic Monument Avenue Engagement
Mackenzie and Ben’s Monument Avenue engagement session was one for the books, and not only because of how beautiful Mackenzie and Ben are as a couple, but because of their willingness to go with the flow on such short notice.
Virginia’s weather has been so unpredictable and filled with rain the past few months. Every photographer can attest to that. With rescheduling sessions, bringing umbrellas to every wedding, we have not caught a break. When it came to Mackenzie and Ben’s engagement session, we rescheduled once due to rain, but then it called for rain again.
“It’s Going To Rain, Again” Email
I received the “it’s going to rain… again” email from Mackenzie while I was on my way to Richmond. This time though, we couldn’t reschedule for a date next week or even in the next month, so I came up with another plan… I called her and I asked what they were doing that evening.
They both live in Richmond, I was going to be in Richmond that afternoon, and the weather was amazing! Win, win, win! Mackenzie immediately went with my crazy idea, called Ben, and we were then scheduled to have the most impromptu engagement session ever. We met at Monument Avenue in Richmond, and then finished at Libby Hill Park!
Beyond willing to go with my crazy ideas, these two are something special, and I loved getting to know them better during our time together! We talked all about their wedding day, potential honeymoon spots, Ben’s love for candles, and Alaskan cruises! They are getting married next September, and I cannot wait!
Ben and Mackenzie, thank you for being so willing to do your session very last minute. You two are the absolute best, and I cannot wait until your big day! Enjoy some of my favorites!
xoxo
