I call my mom everyday, at least once a day. It’s a daily routine, especially this weekend during my 16 hours driving (not all at one time, just for the record). So while I was driving back home from a engagement session last night, my father asks my mom to ask me, “Why isn’t there a Monday blog post?” … I gathered two things from this question. One: At least one person reads my Mash Up Monday post. Two: I need to purchase a lap top.

I had a bridal session in Hickory, NC, so instead of driving 8 straight hours there and then 8 hours back, I broke it up into 4 trips of 4 hours. (I know, I’m crazy.) So, no Mash Up Monday, hence the creation of Mash Up Tuesday today.

This weekend was definitely long, but I got to not only hang out with one of my awesome brides, but I got to hang out with my sister as well!! Definitely an amazing trip filled with sunburns, laughs, great food, and a lot of singing in the car. (Seriously, if there was a prize for best singing/dancing in the car- safely I might add- I would win. No doubt about it.)

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week:

• Coaching over 100 kids 3rd grade to 8th grade pretty much by yourself is overwhelming and quite hard.
• Bridal sessions are awesome. I just hate that I cannot show the world the images until after the wedding!
• Jimmy Fallon: The Tonight Dough Ben & Jerry’s ice scream is the best thing since sliced bread.
• We are going to see Jungle Book this week, and I am so pumped for the Alamo, great food, a good movie, and a date night with MJ.
• I am so excited that wedding season has come into full bloom, but I sure do miss MJ already on the weekends and even the week days.
• I got my first sun burn of the year. Womp.
