Why? Why can’t there be another day added to the weekend? We can call it something really simple like, “Sunday Part 2”. Totally fine with that. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy, this chick just needs a day of rest.
This past week has been one crazy week. Everything from a severe muscle sprain to driving 10+ hours this weekend to an almost fatal car accident. Yeah. One crazy week.
Let’s start with the severe muscle sprain shall we.
I honestly wish I had this really cool story to go along with the injury, but that isn’t so. It’s probably the lamest injury I have ever had because, if you know me, I have had some crazy injuries with pretty intense stories. I bent down to fix something and when I bent back up, I sprained my back… Yeah. It’s that lame, but, oh goodness, I would rank that as one of the worst pains! I had to go to the emergency room and everything, and don’t even get me started on the struggle that was trying to get out of the bed… It was rather interesting.
Okay, so now onto the weekend.
This weekend was pretty amazing because I got to spend a lot of time with my sister, Kellie! It has become pretty rare to relax and just hang out with my sisters, so it was a nice change, especially because she is graduating from college this weekend! Yeah, I can’t believe it myself. She has a job all lined up and I honestly could not be more proud of her. She’s awesome.
While I was with her in Roanoke, I did a senior session with her and her very best friends! These girls are such gems, and I’m so happy that Kel has friends like these in her life. On top of this, I had an engagement session, and, guys, this is one of the prettiest locations I have ever photographed at and this couple… WOW.
You do not want to miss what I have in store for the blog this week!
You might be wondering about the almost fatal car accident that I mentioned earlier… Well let’s just say I said an extra couple thank you’s to God last night.
As I was driving home, I got into the right lane to get off at my exit. As I was on the two lane exit ramp (that does not merge), the woman in the left lane cut me off, forcing me to get into the left lane really quickly. Too quickly. I wasn’t able to slow down fast enough for the turn and my car began to tilt to the left. My car was about to flip into oncoming traffic.
I also need to add that I think it must have poured down rain before I got to this area because everything was soaked and puddles were every where. So on top of the speed, the turn, and the fact that my car was beginning to tilt, I must have hit a puddle… My car began to hydroplane. I had absolutely no control over my car. I want to say the hydroplaning some how prevented me from flipping, but all I can say is that so many things went wrong in a matter of a few seconds. I honestly don’t know how my car is still intact and how I am not in the hospital.
I got extremely lucky. God was surly looking out for me in that moment.
I keep reliving this scary moment in my head and my jaw clenches every time I get into my car. So many things can go so very wrong in a matter of a second, so just keep in mind the power you have when you are driving. Stay focused and stay calm and be careful. It’s not only your life on the line, but everyone else as well.
So, if you made it this far into the post, here are the lessons learned/events that transpired over the last week:
- You can totally get sun burnt while driving. My left arm is now tanner than my right arm.
- About a month out before the big day, so this weekend started the “eat healthy” and “workout daily” routine. I’m also trying to cut out alcohol for the entire month… More likely not going to happen, but it’s worth a try.
- Muscle relaxers sure are something. Goodness, they knock me out!!
- Brett’s wedding gift came in handy this week… Back massager for the win!
That’s about it! Yeah, a novel later, but thanks for reading and stay tuned for more pretty images this week! A senior session, engagement session, and a Dear Bride post!
Have a great Monday!
xoxo
