For Anniversary Sessions, I love asking my couples three questions: What is your favorite part about being married? What advice would you give couples about to get married? What do you love most about your significant other? These questions not only give advice to other couples, but allows my couples to reflect on what they have overcome, the obstacles, and their love for one another. After Ashley and Austin’s Manassas Battlefield Anniversary Session, I asked Ashley to answer those three questions, and here were answers:
What is your favorite part about being married?
- I think my favorite part of being married, is knowing I get to spend forever with my best friend.
What advice would you give couples about to get married?
- Marriage is not easy, but it’s worth the work! The most important advice I can give is communicate. You hear this a lot, but it couldn’t be more true.
What do you love most about your significant other?
- What I love most about Austin, is how calm he always is. He is always my listening ear and will do whatever possible to ease my stress. He loves me unconditionally and has no problem showing it!
Anniversary sessions have become one of my favorite sessions to photograph because I strongly believe that no matter what year of marriage you are in, you should allows document your love. Each year brings new adventures and new challenges that shape you into the couple you are today. For Ashley and Austin, they are about to reach their first year in marriage, and years from now they will be able to look at these images and remember so many different aspects of this first year. Their favorite being their brand new puppy, Hurley! Celebrating this first year with them at the Manassas Battlefields was such an honor, and I can’t wait to see what this next year of marriage has in store for them!
