November 23, 2015 was a big day for Taylor and Galen, not only did they buy their new home, but Taylor asked Galen to be his forever with the most beautiful engagement ring. (Huge props Taylor, a house and a ring, you did well my friend!) The day after that Galen immediately texted me and asked me to be her photographer, and of course I teared up and did a happy dance and said yes! Galen and I have been friends for over half my life, and just knowing Galen is going to marry her best friend of 7 years makes me so incredibly happy!
Galen is the type of person who has an idea and goes all in with it, and I love her for it. She wanted an engagement session that was different, magical, and everything in between. If you ask me, it was just that. The three of us and their pup, Duke, met up in Hampton, Virginia, at the place where Galen gets horse back lessons from. It was an overcast morning with no hope for sun, but we were so happy it wasn’t raining. We began the session with some portraits in the woodsy (made up word) area, and then we brought out the horse, Belle. Yes, I said horse, and what a beautiful horse at that! We did some portraits with Belle, and finished the session with beautiful glowy (another made up word) sun! Yes, SUN! Gosh, the morning was just amazing… to say the least!
Galen, I am so happy that you have found the love of your life. You truly deserve all the happiness in the world. Taylor, you are her perfect match and are as sweet as can be. Seeing the both of you interact with one another made my heart flutter. I cannot wait until your October wedding!
A HUGE shout out to Erin Ward of The Little Flower Bud! When I posted in the Rising Tide Society Facebook Group asking a florist to make a flower garland for our session, she responded so quickly and she was amazing to work with and the garland itself… JAW DROP. It was stunning in every way! If you need a florist, go to her!!
One of my favorites!
Galen, you are stunning!
