This Valentine’s Day was definitely one I will never forget because not only did I have MJ as my Valentine, but I also had Molly and Mitchell as my Valentines as well. Molly had emailed me through Mitchell’s email account about a month ago, and she had asked me if I could do a Valentine couple session for them! I immediately emailed her back, and said yes. It gets better though… Mitchell emails me back and asks if we can make it a proposal session!! (Uh. Yes. Always haha.) I don’t think I can put in words how happy and excited I was when I read that email. I ran and told MJ, called my mom, texted my sister, and immediately told my best friend… Yes, I was a little over excited for this session. It meant so much to me because this is exactly how MJ proposed to me, so I felt a special connection right from the start!

Mitchell and I met up at Fort Monroe two weeks before the proposal weekend to plan everything out, get our code words perfect, and make sure we were ready for one of the biggest days of their lives. We were all ready to go, and then the weather channel let us know that this weekend was going to be one of the coldest weekends of the year! But you know what, they were not going to let that ruin their session! Molly bought new jackets and a giant box of hand warmers. She came prepared!!

We started the session just like any other session. They got into their second outfit, and we headed to the proposal spot! (I just happened to pick the coldest spot on the whole Fort.) I gave my code word, he got down on one knee, and it was all smiles and kisses from there! It was perfect; she kinda knew it was coming, but she was as happy as could be and Mitchell’s smile never left his face!

I feel like I have known these two for years. Between Mitchell and I emailing almost every day and Molly and I texting like we were best friends, I wouldn’t have wanted to be any where else on that cold Valentine’s day. Molly and Mitchell, thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer for this special moment in your lives. You both will forever hold a special place in my heart! You two were made for one another, and the love you share for one another is indescribable. Enjoy this time of your lives, and your November wedding is going to be beyond perfect!!
