A Beautiful Rust Manor House Wedding
It’s hard to describe just how much I loved this day. It was authentic and genuine and full of the best kind of emotions!
As soon as I arrived to the hotel where everyone was getting ready, I gave Katie the biggest hug, met all of her beautiful bridesmaids, and then went off to photograph the wedding details! And because I didn’t want to overcrowd the hotel room, I plopped myself near a big window that happened to be right next to the elevator. You got to do, what you got to do to get the good light, right… Right! This then met I was seeing everyone who came off and on the elevator. Including wedding guests, family, bridal party, and John, the groom!
When I saw John for the first time, I just knew this day was going to be something special. He was feeling all the feels. You could see that he was overjoyed to be finally marrying his one true love, his person. As we were standing near the elevator, we hugged, talked about his morning, and everything he was feeling. When he went to go back down the elevator though, he stopped, turned around, and thanked me. Thanked me for being a part of their wedding day and how appreciative he was for my friendship and everything I had done for them… And if that didn’t pull on my heart strings enough, I went back into the hotel room where the girls were getting ready to then get another huge thank you from Katie!
Cue the tears.
This comes as no shock though because Katie and John are the most beautiful souls. If you spend any time around them, they will make you feel like you’re the best of friends, you’ll laugh a lot, and you’ll fall absolutely in love with them. There’s just no way you can’t. They radiate pure joy and they are head over heels in love with each other!
As their wedding day continued, we drove over to Rust Manor House in Leesburg, Virginia! Here is where Katie put on her stunning Hayley Paige gown, had a heart felt first look with John, and then married the man of her dreams! (And of course danced like there was no tomorrow!) Their entire day went seamlessly and without a hitch!
Katie and John: I wish there was a word stronger than honored. I wish there was a word that could describe how thrilled and humbled I was that you chose me as your wedding photographer. You two are an incredible couple with love bursting at the seams, and it was truly our honor to be a fly on the wall during your wedding day. There’s no where else I would have rather been. Thank you, thank you! I love you guys!
