A Georgetown University Engagement Session
Over two weeks ago, I received an email from a guy named Ed, and he wanted me to photograph his proposal to his girlfriend, Katie. Um, YES. Duh! I’m always down to photograph a proposal!
Here’s the catch. They both live in NY and I live in Northern Virginia and the proposal was going to be at Georgetown University, so this meant that I was going to have to do a lot of stalking to get an idea of what the two of them looked like… Which is a talent of mine (haha), so we were good to go until the morning of the proposal hit.
I got a text from Ed that said that their train from NY to VA was cancelled and that he was having a really hard time finding a way to get to Georgetown in time for the proposal. (Dang on, wind storm.) So I let him know that I was available all day Sunday, if he wanted to propose then. He said yes, and the plan was 10 AM on Sunday!
Well, a few hours later, a new text came in from Ed… He proposed! I still laugh because, you know, sometimes that is how life works. It gives lemons (or a whole lot of wind), and you make lemonade! She said YES, of course, and if that’s the only thing that goes right, that’s fine by me and certainly fine by Ed!
Because these two are getting MARRIED, and, in the end, that’s all that matters. They still even got an engagement session the next day, so win, win!
Dear Ed and Katie
I am so incredibly happy for the two of you! Thank you for showing me around campus and spending your morning with me! Have the most amazing time planning the wedding of your dreams! You guys deserve the world, and I cannot wait to see what life has in store for you next!
xoxo
