I firstly want to say CONGRATULATIONS! You’re getting MARRIED! That in itself is something to celebrate. Your best friend proposed, you said yes, and now you are planning the wedding of your dreams to celebrate with all your favorite people!

You deserve every right to celebrate and plan in your own time, so with that I want to keep this blog post as short and too the point as possible. More importantly, I want you to be in the loop.

2022 is booking up faster than ever, and I don’t think you and other brides know this. You might have read it once or twice and thought- I have time, but the truth is, I rather you take action now than be sorry later!

With 2021 brides looking to reschedule their weddings due to COVID-19, many are moving their weddings as far away as possible, so vaccinations are all given out and people feel safe to travel. Meaning, most are postponing their weddings until 2022, and this reason alone is why 2022 is booking up so fast.

This doesn’t even include the 2022 brides that have already set their date, venue, and other important vendors in stone. Prime wedding dates are becoming unavailable, and this will greatly impact your wedding planning.

Even over the past two weeks, I have had to send numerous “I’m not available” emails. These couples were truly interested in having me be their wedding photographer. And I have to say, it’s the WORST email that I have to send!

So, here are some proactive steps you can take to ensure you get all of your dream vendors:

  • If you have a date and venue already picked out, go ahead and start reaching out to your next important dream vendors. For example, photographer, planner, florist, caterer, DJ, rentals, etc!
  • If you DO NOT have a date or venue, even better. Reach out to that dream vendor right now. (Someone you love and want to be a part of your wedding day.) And plan your wedding day around them and their availability!
  • And this one is really crazy… If you already have a venue booked and your dream vendor isn’t available, ask if you can move your wedding date. (The chances are really high that you can do this, but you’ll have to do it in a timely matter!)

Again, all of these are suggestions and all this information, in general, is to keep you in the know. Because receiving the “I’m not available” email hurts just as much!

You deserve the best for one of the most amazing days of your life. My biggest piece of advice is to reach out now, get creative, and cross things off that wedding planning to do list!

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!
