Last Sunday, I received a text that read, “My cousin’s photographer just cancelled on her. Are you available to photograph her wedding this weekend?”

Let that soak in for a moment. Yeah. That happened. I honestly didn’t know what to say first. All I wanted to do was give this bride the biggest hug because not only is the week before your wedding extremely stressful, but a vital vendor just backed out on her DAYS before her wedding day. This is how Sarah and Will were brought into my life and how I became their wedding photographer.

I think it’s safe to say, everything happens for a reason.

Sarah and Will’s Bluemont Vineyard Wedding was beautiful in every way. Between the gorgeous weather, the stunning views, and an amazing couple, it could not have been more perfect. The best way to describe their wedding day is laid back and effortless. Everything went from one part of the day to the next without a hitch. No stress, no snags, just a beautiful wedding for Sarah and Will to reminisce for the rest of their lives!

When I arrived to the Salamandor Resort where Sarah and her girls were getting ready, I was greeted with the biggest hug and so many thank you’s. Once we arrived to the venue, we began running through the day effortlessly and one of my favorite parts of the day was when Sarah was reading her vows to Will. They were so beautifully written (and also SO funny). My second favorite part? When Will iced his groomsmen!

Their love for one another and for their daughter is so true and sincere. I cannot wait to see what the rest of their lives has in store for them. The truth is though I am the one that is thankful. I got to photograph a wedding for a loving and amazing couple and their family. I’m the one who is thankful and honored to have been a part of it.

I have had such a lovely time getting to know Sarah and Will over this past week (still crazy to me) and then photographing their big day at the lovely Bluemont Vineyard. I’ll never get tired of exploring all the beautiful venues that Virginia has to offer! I don’t think I really appreciated this states beauty until I started shooting weddings all over VA!
