Happy Wednesday, brides to be! This week I’m going to be talking about everything bridesmaids. Who do you ask to be your bridesmaids? How do you ask your bridesmaids? And next week, I’m going to talk about how you choose their bridesmaid dresses!

Let’s get started with Bridesmaids Part One!

Bridesmaids are made of your best friends, sisters, cousins… the people that you couldn’t imagine without on the biggest day of your life. These people are the friends and family that make you happier than anyone else, who have been there for you through thick and thin, they are your people. (Grey’s Anatomy reference.) They are going to be with you the entire day: getting ready, right beside you when you are getting married, and dancing the night away with you.

The main point is that you want to choose bridesmaids that make you happy. Friends and family that are supportive, helpful, and make you be you (even if your nervous or stressed or anything)! Do not feel like there is a right and wrong thing to do when it comes to choosing your bridesmaids! Or feel like you ever HAVE TO have someone in your bridal party because you feel bad or think they might get mad at you. The thing to remember is that it’s your day, and the people you surround yourself with are there to make your day that much better!

AT THE END OF THE DAY, this is YOUR wedding, and the only people’s opinions that matter are yours and your future hubby’s. If you want to have 12 bridesmaids, have 12 bridesmaids. If you don’t want any, you do not need to have any. When planning a wedding, many brides, including myself, constantly think about how other people have done their wedding before or what’s the “right” thing to do based on other people’s opinions. Don’t. Do what you want, and I know that sounds so much easier than it actually is, but you’ll regret it if you don’t make it all about you and your fiancé! I know my day is going to be absolutely amazing because I’m not only marrying the man of my dreams, but I’m marrying him with my bestest friends right by my side. I hope you all have the same feeling after you pick your bridesmaids!
