When I started this business, I wanted to photograph everything and anything, and I did just that. (Literally. I photographed everything from people to nature to artsy fartsy stuff. It was a lot of stuff!) Now going into my third year of business, I have definitely found my niche. Couples in love, marrying your dearest friend are what make my heart race and my passion growing, but when I get to do senior sessions with seniors that I have known for years, I get SO excited. I get to photograph the craziness that the little kid that I met years ago is actually graduating!
For his senior session, we went over to Fort Monroe (at sunrise I might add). It was perfect! Everything from the sunrise to the temperature to the car show at the end. Carter even played his guitar during the session, and we even got him to sing! It was awesome!! It was a fun morning being able to hang out with Carter and his mom! Carter has definitely changed since the first day that I met him.
I met Carter a few years ago while heading to New Orleans for our church’s mission trip. When you are in a car with people for 8 plus hours, you really get to know one another… If you know me, I dance and sing in the car. I sadly know every song on the radio and I probably have some kind of dance that goes along with it. (I’m only a little weird, it’s fine.) When the other kids looked at me like some crazy person, Carter danced and sang right there with me. (Yes, I still have the videos to prove it.)
During that mission trip our group not only bonded over the long hours in the car, but we bonded as we all grew our relationship with God. Carter was only in middle school during that mission trip, and now, he this incredible young man with an amazing heart, funny personality, and a deep love for praising and worshiping God. I am so proud of the man that he has become and he has such an amazing future ahead of him!
Enjoy a few of my favorites from our time together!
