When I walked into Katlyn’s grandmother’s house, I was instantly greeted and welcomed into what was going to be one of the most amazing days. Katlyn is not only my bride, but she is a dear friend and sorority sister, so as soon as I saw her I gave her the biggest hug! This sweet human was going to marry the man of her dreams, and I could not have been more excited to be there. Moments after, I was introduced to all the beautiful bridesmaids and family. I already felt so loved and welcome! Eric and Katlyn’s hometown wedding was going to be one I would never forget!

It was a hot, September afternoon, and I know I shouldn’t use the word perfect to describe weddings, but I can’t think of a better way to describe Eric and Katlyn’s wedding day. From the weather, to the scenery, to being ahead of schedule all day long (that never happens!), their wedding day was simple and lovely, just the way they dreamed it would be.

I loved so many things about their wedding day, but one of my favorite parts was the ceremony: it was held on her dad’s property that they one day plan on building a home on and it was filled with SO many friends and family that truly loved them. By filled, I mean filled… I have never seen more people at a wedding! Eric and Katelyn love the Lord, they love their families and it was VERY obvious that they love their friends. They were surrounded by their friends from college, childhood, youth group, cousins, etc. They almost didn’t have enough time to dance because they had so many people to hug and say hi to. It’s such a special thing to have all of the people that you love in ONE place!! As I captured their day, I couldn’t help but think about how much of an honor it is to spend the day with them! I feel like we’re a part of the family!!!

Eric and Katelyn have such a sweet relationship. I loved capturing portraits of just the two of them and allowing them to have a few minutes together, away from the crowds. With every moment of their wedding day you just knew how thankful they were for everyone that was around them and how thankful they were for each other. Katlyn and Eric, you two mean the world to me and I couldn’t be more happy for you! Enjoy reliving your wedding day on the blog!
