Flowers. These beautiful things are going to be the death of my wedding planning. You would think I would know a thing or two about florals with working in the wedding industry, but I think I might know two different types of flowers and that is about it. Sad, I know, but I have so much respect for the florists that can create beautiful floral arrangements.

So, if you are anything like me, how in the world do you choose the florist that is perfect for you and your wedding?

It didn’t take long to find my florist though because I knew she was who I wanted for the longest time now, so I thought I was good to go… But, you know, life happens, and sadly our florist is no longer able to do our wedding… So back to the drawing board and back to finding someone I can trust full heartedly to do my florals.

Here are my step by step thoughts during this process of finding the perfect florist:

Budget.

  • What is your budget for florals? I cannot stress this enough. Florals can range anywhere from $2,000 to as high as your budget can take it. Florals depend on three things: the types of flowers, your florist’s time and creativity, and how many flowers/floral arrangements you want. Definitely decide how much money you can give to florals and then go from there.

What are you looking for?

  • Center pieces, bouquets, bouteneirres, floral arrangements, ect. The list can go on and on, so before you go looking for a florist, first decide on what you would like. (Refer to your budget because the more flowers you want the higher the price will go.)

The Type of Flowers.

  • Google what flowers are in bloom for the month of your wedding. Each flower costs differently from another, especially if they are not in bloom the month of your big day.

Location.

  • As you are looking for florists, keep in mind where they are located. Any travel the florist has to do will cost more, so just make sure you save room in your budget for that!

Style.

  • Florists are artists, and being an artist they all have different styles with the way they arrange flowers. Start with by looking on Pinterest and finding bouquets that you love and make a board for them. This will definitely help you find your perfect florist, and that board will help your florist get ideas.

Remember, stick to your budget. Florals are one of the easiest things to go over your budget on.

Once you have these points down, start contacting florists! This is as far as I have gotten so far, so enjoy these thoughts and ideas I have gathered over the past few days while trying to find a new florist!

Remember, no matter where you are in the wedding process, you are getting married to the love of your life!! If you are stressed, over whelmed, or just to the point of wanting to elope, hang in there! Your day is going to be stunning and it’s going to be the best day of your life!
