When Sarah first contacted me months ago about her October 2019 wedding, we clicked instantly. After talking all about her love story with Ryan and her wedding day plans, I knew we were meant to be! (Me and Sarah, obviously haha.) One thing sticks in my mind about our conversation, her love for the color blush and how she wants to incorporate that into her wedding day as much as possible! So when we started talking about locations for their engagement session, the DC cherry blossoms came up, but then I thought about one of my new favorite locations, Waterperry Farm in Charlottesville, VA.

We both drove down from Northern Virginia to the beautiful Waterperry Farm, tucked away in the hills of Charlottesville, VA. The light was just low enough to be peaking through the trees and it was a beautiful 75 degrees. The perfect day for an engagement session! It’s crazy to think about, but this is my 10th session of 2018 and those were taken in my “off” season! WOW. I have shot engagements for most of my 2018 couples, and now I’m getting to know my 2019 couples through their engagement shoots! After every engagement, I leave thinking to myself “Well, another awesome couple for 2019!”.

I seriously have the most amazing brides and grooms! Ryan and Sarah definitely fit into the “awesome couple” category! They walked all over the property with me on Saturday evening, and I loved getting to know them a little bit! These high school sweethearts have been together for 7 years! 7 years! They have grown up together, and I love just how well they know one another. And for most guys, they don’t enjoy getting their picture taken, and I totally get it. MJ husband is the President of that committee, but Ryan was so easy going and you know he would do anything to make Sarah happy. For example, getting hit by tree branches for the perfect shot and taking hundreds upon hundreds of images! 🙂 He’s a keeper, Sarah!

I’m so excited to be a part of their beautiful wedding at the Army Navy Country Club next year!! Enjoy some of my favorites from their shoot and get excited to see them again next October!!
