I can finally tell you all my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
Wait for it…
Wait for it…
Wait for it…
I AM GOING TO IRELAND!! Yep. IRELAND. I am photographing my first destination wedding across the water in one of my dream countries!! (Anyone else think of Ireland and think of P.S. I Love You!? I know, sad movie, but so beautiful and pretty funny!) I’m going to be photographing this stunning couple on cliffs and castles and beautiful Ireland scenery!! (That’s what I am imagining at least haha!)
Seriously, this is still unreal! This wedding isn’t until July 2018, but the plans have been made, contracts have been drafted, and deposits have been sent! I am over the moon, and I am so happy that I finally get to share this exciting news with you all!
Matt and Jane have been waiting for this day for what seems to be forever! After years of dating, they are finally getting married in the same church that her parent’s got married in (in IRELAND)! I am honored beyond belief. I am still pinching myself to make sure that this is real!
Many small businesses make goals for the year, whether they be obtainable or dream goals. This year, I only had one goal, book twice as many weddings than the year before and I did that plus some, but I didn’t have any other goals. I know that I needed and wanted more experience; I wanted to focus on my brides and the experience I was giving them. Overall, I gave myself a list of things that were going to happen, not goals. Of course, I have always dreamed of doing a destination wedding, who hasn’t? I never thought I would be given the opportunity to photograph one though! So this experience, I learned two things: make goals and have more confidence in what you do.
Now, I am making it a goal to make myself make goals for 2017! I never made them because I never wanted to disappoint myself when and if I didn’t accomplish them, but that’s not how goals work. Goals: the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result. Goals aren’t supposed to be easily obtainable. You are supposed to work hard, have determination, and have the confidence to know that you can in order for goals to become a reality! So, if you are anything like me, try and make a list of goals! Some that are obtainable in a year maybe some that are obtainable over the course of a few years! They are worth it, and help you focus on what you want. Heck, I’m going to Ireland!! If I can obtain my dream goal, so can you!
Thank you so much for reading this blog post! I am just so excited for this amazing new adventure for my business, and I cannot wait to see what else this business has in store for me!
xoxo
